Friends, Food and Major Fumbles

My sweetly hilarious husband uses a phrase often to describe an accident or spill, both literal and figurative..."Major Fumble."

As in when I literally fell INTO the Expedition while loading Dawson's carseat; or when David forgot he had put a house on realtor carvan and drove like a bat out of you-know-where to get there in time to unlock it so 54 agents wouldn't be standing on the front porch waiting on him.

All Major Fumbles. All pretty common in the Fletcher household.

So, why on earth I thought we could out to dinner with our sweet friends Gentry and Rachel and NOT experience a Major Fumble is beyond me.

Here are Gentry and Rachel BEFORE the Major Fumble...their little son, Noah took this picture!
David and Noah, his new BFF.
Noah Wheat, a Self Portrait. Could he be any cuter?

So, I guess you're wondering what the Major Fumble was.

Imagine, if you will, a huge Outback-Steakhouse-We-Don't-Want-To-Have-To-Give-You-Another-Refill-You-Loony-Man glass.

Now, imagine it filled with red Hi-C Fruit Punch. The drink of champions. 'Cause everyone knows HAWAIIAN PUNCH meshes so well with steak.

Now, if you can, imagine the entire glass being tipped over and all of the fruity goodness spilling ALL OVER my husband's pants as he's scooting out of the booth.

Take a moment. I know you need one.

Yeah. No amount of napkins in the world could've made that better.

What's funnier is that instead of saying "Oh, crap!" or rushing around to find a napkin, David just sat there, tipped his head back, closed his eyes and said "Oh, yeah. That feels good. So good."

Had we not already been leaving, I do believe we would've been thrown out because we were laughing SO HARD. I was crying I was laughing so hard.

So, a lesson for you: If you ever, and I mean EVER, go out to dinner or any other meal with us, just be ready for a Major Fumble.

You might also want to bring some napkins.

I can't believe his reaction...that is priceless. I would have been screaming or whining or something, but not that reaction.

Your friends look so familiar!

Ok, if all that happened last night after the day we had at lunch then I have to say "HOLY MOLY". Ok , and I have to ask...who drank PUNCH with their Outback steak? That would ruin any good steak, especially one from Outback.
And for any of you reading this, I had lunch with Lauren yesterday and we had a FUMBLE with Dawson when he decided to kick his foot up when Lauren was trying to feed him in the car seat and to make a long story short, he ended up with 90% of his squash/corn in his lap and all in his car seat! NOT A PRETTY SIGHT...LOL!

I'm so glad to know that I am not the only one who does stuff like that!! I usually spill it on myself though. And, it's almost always something that is dry clean only!!

I agree with Michelle, I hope the little boy was the one drinking punch! :)

That is hillarious, Lauren. Oh my goodness, the whole story just had me laughing--especially your husband's reaction!! I wish I could have seen it! Too funny! And I can so relate!

Poor thing! This is HILARIOUS!!! I am with Michelle...who was having punch with their steak? Would that be you?

Remember, it's the major fumbles that make it all worth while!

Nice! I love David's reaction... lol... classic! It reminds me, actually, of a sarcastic remark Web or Chris would make! Crackin' me up! That's just what you get for ordering punch to go with your steak! :-)

p.s. I just found ANOTHER bee in my living room! lol

Hilarious! The Horton household is full of "Major Fumbles" too. I might just have to adopt that term! At least it was a hot summer day. I guess it cooled him off! Ha!

I heard about this!! And it took Rachel about 27 minutes to tell the story because she was laughing so hard!

That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen, I thought Gentry was going to hyperventilate from Laughter! Noah is in LOVE with David! He talks about all you guys all the time now!

I tend to be accident prone too...gotten used to it, but it is a little frustrating when you have others with you who arn't used to be victims of your opps'es. Alls well that ends well, right?

Wow - sounds earily (sp?) similar to my dear hubby - master of all major fumbles...thankfully he has "soft" hands to catch many of them, but yeah - bit time fumbles. We should never get together -can you imagine?!

And super cool that you're friends with Rachel Wheat - I've been stalking her blog for quite some time now! LOL. I feel like I'm missing all the fun where you guys are, for real.
