On Tuesday, my brother Jason was honored at MTSU's ROTC awards ceremony. He has been on the Dean's list every semester, and has excelled at everything the Army and MTSU has put in front of him. I am so proud of him. He'll be commissioned next Friday, so be prepared for more bragging. It may sound silly, but I even cried at the video they showed during the ceremony of the training exercises that his group went through. When you think that they're doing that so that they can defend us and take care of us and have to tolerate being away from their own families, it's overwhelming and humbling at the same time. Not everyone can be a soldier (I couldn't), and I'm convinced now, more than ever, that it takes a very special person to fill those boots. My brother is one of them.

Congratulations to Jason!
He looks so handsome!! Yes we all are proud of him!! Congrats Jason!!!!
You should be proud La! I agree that we far too often take for granted what the soldiers are doing so that we can go on about our "merry" way!
My husband is one of those men, too! We know exactly what it is like to live through deployment, and I am so tender towards those families that have been through it 2 and even 3 times. It is so hard! I cry at those ceremonies, too, so you are not alone there. I don't know your brother, but I thank him for what he is doing for our country and congratulate him on his success in the Army thus far. Brag on, sister! You have every right to be proud!
So proud of Jason... please tell him Congratuations from me!!!
